Costly Distraction

If you want to do a great job parenting, you must leave yourself enough space and energy in your life to do it.

If we have all kinds of other things going on in our lives, we are too distracted or exhausted to catch what needs to be done, give attention to the things that need it, or hold the line for the things that are in the child’s best interest whether it’s the amount and type of media that they are consuming or the best food selections to put on their plates. If we are distracted or exhausted we will surrender the best for whatever is easier, just to survive.
